Volvo launch new 1.6 litre petrol engines

Featuring the very latest direct injection technology. The GTDi (Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection) concept was developed to offer improved fuel consumption without compromising on performance. The 1.6 GTDi T3 features 150 PS while the T4 offers 180 PS and both will be available in the all-new Volvo S60 and V60 in late 2010.

The 180 PS T4 engine delivers maximum torque of 240 Nm from just 1600 rpm all the way up to 5000 rpm.

New Mondeo unveiled and Due to go on Sale In October!

Ford has put the Mondeo under the knife! With styling updates, a more luxurious interior, new engines and technology, the blue oval’s family saloon – set to debut at the Moscow motor show in August – has been completely overhauled.

On the outside, the Mondeo gets new front and rear bumpers, a gaping lower trapezoid grille with chrome highlights and LED daytime running lights.

Ford is aiming for a premium feel on the inside, with new trim materials across the range, a new centre console design and LED courtesy lights. The Mondeo gets a new sat-nav system and a new sound system option with a 265-watt, eight-channel amp and 17-litre subwoofer.

There are big changes under the bonnet too, with Ford introducing new petrol and diesel engines. A 237bhp version of its 2.0-litre EcoBoost petrol unit with CO2 emissions kept down to 179g/km and a tuned-up version of its 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi – with power up 12 per cent to 197bhp.

On top of those, there is Ford’s 200bhp 2.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine and a range of 2.0-litre TDCi diesels available with 112, 137 or 160bhp. The firm’s dual-clutch Powershift transmission will come as standard on EcoBoost models and as an option for the 137 and 160bhp oil burners.

Too boost efficiency Ford is offering Smart Regenerative Breaking, Ford Eco Mode and an Active Grille Shutter System – which regulates airflow through the radiator and the engine compartment to reduce drag and help warm the engine up quicker.
A range of new driver assistance features will also be available, including Lane Departure Warning, Driver Alert, Auto High Beam, Blind Sport Information System and Rear View Camera.

Featuring refreshed styling, pioneering technology and a range of efficient new petrol and diesel engines, New Touran now offers even more unbelievable value

The New Touran has a new grille and larger, body-coloured, front bumper and more distinctive headlights. At the rear now are new LED taillights and a revised spoiler that helps improve aerodynamic efficiency.

Inside, more chrome lends an upmarket feel, while redesigned headrests give rear-seat passengers a better view of the road ahead. Seven seats are standard, in a two-three-two formation as before. Land Rover unveils sub-160g/km Freelander

Available from January 2011, the 2.2-litre 148hp diesel car, has 158g/km and official figures of 47.2mpg.

It is only available with a six-speed manual transmission with stop/start technology as standard.

"The new Freelander 2 eD4 moves Land Rover into the hugely popular and fiercely contested two wheel-drive SUV market," said Land Rover managing director Phil Popham. "The European market for two-wheel drive SUVs represents 23% of the segment and we intend to compete strongly here.

Meanwhile, the four-wheel drive new model range, the Freelander 2 TD4 and SD4, on sale in September, has a new 2.2-litre diesel engine with either 148hp or 188hp, offering 165g/km and 185g/km CO2 respectively.

Audi Reveals A7 Sportback

The New model, which has arrived for ordering from the begining of August with the first deliveries in early 2011. Will have two petrol and two diesel engines at launch: a 2.8-litre FSI with 203hp, a 3.0 TFSI with 299hp, a 3.0 TDI with 203hp and a 3.0 TDI with 244hp.

The most efficient model, the 3.0 TDI 204hp, emits 139g/km CO2 and achieves 53.3mpg.

There is a Multitronic CVT automatic transmission for front-wheel-drive versions and a seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission for quattro models.

Two specification levels - SE and S line – will be offered in the UK. Equipment will include xenon headlamps with LED tail lamps, powered tailgate operation, leather upholstery, electric seat adjustment and heating, cruise and parking controls, satellite navigation, the Audi Music Interface, DAB digital radio and Bluetooth phone preparation.

Options include parallel park assist, all-LED headlights, head-up display and adaptive air suspension.

Toyota Auris Hybrid to drive fleet sales

Toyota are expecting business sales this year to be driven by interest in the new 89g Auris Hybrid.

The highly fuel-efficient model, which can achieve over 74mpg, allows Toyota to get attention from user chooser company drivers wanting to cut their Benefit-in-Kind tax bills as well as onto the choice lists of fleets with stringent CO2 caps.

Land Rover Unveils Range Rover

Land Rover has unveiled its most fuel efficient Range Rover ever, a new 4.4 litre 8 Speed Auto Diesel.

On sale from late September, the ‘super diesel’ will see Range Rover delivering over 30mpg for the first time.

Replacing a 3.6-litre model, the new engine reduces CO2 emissions by 14% from 294g/km to 253g/km. The 5.0-litre supercharged LR-V8 stays as part of the range.

MINI has announced that its range will have a facelift from August 2010.

New Touareg is Open for Ordering

The New Touareg is open for ordering. It's cleaner, lighter, sharper and up to 20 per cent more fuel efficient than its predecessor, but offers the same virtues of space, comfort, refinement and off-road and towing ability.

Volkwagen have fitted a raft of new features to the new Touareg including DAB radio which is standard across the range and puts new Touareg ahead of competitor models and prepares it for the planned switch off of the analogue radio signal in 2015.

There's also a new Bluetooth system as standard on Altitude and Altitude V8 (optional on all others). It has hands-free profile (HFP) compatibility, which means it has greater compatibility than the previous factory-fit system (rSAP) and works with iPhone, Blackberry, and the majority of mobile phones on the market.

The New Volkswagen Jetta has been unveiled

The new Jetta has been unveiled, featuring a sharp new look, greater space and the most advanced range of petrol and diesel engines.

The fresh styling and acute attention to detail continues to the interior of the Jetta. An all-new dashboard featuring subtle aluminium highlights sits ahead of a leather-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel. Every Jetta will feature an integrated multifunction display ahead of the driver, air conditioning and a CD stereo system.

As with the outgoing Jetta, the new car mixes the practicality of being able to seat five adults with a large, 510-litre loadspace and a comprehensive range of standard safety features including six airbags, ABS and Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP).

The overall length of the Jetta has grown by 90 mm to 4,644 mm. In addition, the wheelbase has also been extended to 2,648 mm, an increase of 70 mm, resulting in 67 mm more legroom for rear seat passengers.

Powering the new Jetta is a range of advanced petrol and diesel forced induction engines. New to the Jetta is the 1.2-litre TSI engine producing 105 PS while the twincharged 1.4-litre TSI 160 PS engine mixing performance and economy is added to the range. The 1.4-litre TSI 122 PS and 2.0-litre TSI 200 PS continue unchanged. A 1.6-litre TDI 105 PS engine starts the diesel range. It’s joined by a 2.0 TDI 140 PS engine.

The BlueMotion Technology modifications including Start-Stop and regenerative braking will be made available linked to the 1.2-litre TSI and the 1.6-litre TDI engines. The changes allow the 1.2-litre TSI version to achieve 53.2 mpg on the combined cycle while emitting 123 g/km of CO2. The 1.6-litre TDI variant is capable of returning 68 mpg and emits just 109 g/km of carbon dioxide.
